HIA Architecture Awards 2022, The flying box by Myrto Kiourti

A great honour for the “Flying Box” of architect Myrto Kiourti from the Hellenic Institute of Architecture. The project was awarded as the 3rd best architectural project completed in the last 5 years in Greece. EPIKYKLOS had the honor of participating in the construction of this project.

The Architecture Awards is the highest honour for completed projects and were first introduced by the Hellenic Institute of Architecture in Greece in 2000. The awards, which are given every four years, aim to draw attention to Modern Greek architecture, which stands out for its high aesthetic, functional and constructional quality and its harmony with the environment.

The “EIA Architecture Award 2022” concerns architectural projects, regardless of scale and typology, located in Greece and completed within the period 2017-2022. This year, out of the 97 entries submitted, eleven selections stood out.

The nominated projects are judged in two stages, by different committees, in which the award-winning architects of 2017 also participate. The visit of the members of the second jury to the pre-selected buildings is of critical importance for the final decision, focusing on the spatial experience and discussion with the architects and their users.
